This is a dinner party going wrong. A deadly mistake. He has become the Unfortunate ‘ Guest of Honour’.
Suddenly, those he thought were there to welcome him have turned on him. The flock is in deadly flight as they chase the naive and un-willing sacrificial bird around the room. He is trapped but realises too late that he was invited for all the wrong reasons.
In panicked hindsight, he realises a closer examination of himself may have allowed him to anticipate this outcome.
